About your tutor, Fi.

Fi is a ceramicist and experienced pottery tutor based in North Abingdon, teaching from her fully equipped garden studio. With a First Class degree in Contemporary Crafts (Plymouth College of Art), she brings a decade of hands-on wheel-throwing experience to her teaching.

Fi has taught hundreds of students always with a calm, patient approach that encourages experimentation while gently correcting technique. One recent student shared:

“Fi was a very friendly and approachable instructor… just the right amount of hands-on. She watched us the entire time we were using the wheel to make sure we didn’t go too wrong… If she saw any imperfections, she was quick to correct them so we came away with beautiful and usable pieces.”

She creates a relaxed and supportive atmosphere where learners never feel rushed, but always feel guided:

“We were really able to make the most of each of the sessions; we never felt rushed… Overall, great value for money.”

Whether you’re completely new to pottery or looking to refine specific aspects of your technique, Fi offers one-to-one attention tailored to what you want to achieve—helping you build both confidence and skill at the wheel.
