Meet the Maker

Hi, I’m Fi – the hands behind FICH Ceramics.

FICH Ceramics began with a love for clay that started during my time at Plymouth College of Art. The first time I sat at the wheel and began throwing, I knew I’d found something special. There’s a unique connection that comes from using your hands as tools – shaping something from nothing, letting each form grow and evolve under your fingertips. That process, and the marks it leaves behind, is something I carry into every piece I create. No two are ever quite the same – each one holds its own quiet story.

After graduating in 2015 with a First Class Honours Degree in Contemporary Crafts, I worked full-time in a People Referral Unit. Bit by bit, I used my earnings to buy equipment and eventually built a small studio at home – a space that still serves as the heart of FICH Ceramics today.

Over the past 8 years, I’ve also had the privilege of sharing this passion through pottery experiences, welcoming students into the world of clay. Even after nearly a decade, I’m still just as captivated by the process – and so grateful to do what I love every day.
